La Sarre

La Sarre is the forest capital of Canada and has a forestry interpretation centre that will interest everybody. An exhibition on life in the woodcutter camps in the 1930s, the indoor reconstitution of a camp, tools and a sawmill scale model will make you discover this fascinating world. If you are interested in this industry sector, you can visit the Tembec and Norbord factories, which are both important to the region. Inside one of the oldest residences of the municipality, you will find the Société d’histoire et du patrimoine where exhibitions, collections and scale models will make you relive the history of La Sarre. Art and nature lovers won’t get bored in the municipality since there is an art centre where several exhibitions are presented as well as a bird garden at the parc Saint-André. On the 7e rang, you will also find a lake that is excellent for trout fishing.
