Amos is considered the paradise of fresh water. In fact, more than 12,000 years ago, when the glaciers melted, they left numerous eskers behind them in the region. These eskers have contributed to turn the spring water of the city into crystal-clear water. The Maison du tourisme in Amos invites you to visit its exhibition “De l'Harricana à l'esker” (from Harricana to esker), which will explain how the water of the region can be so pure. You can also visit the municipal well to learn more about this phenomenon.
