
This area is located in the middle of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region and includes the cities of Rouyn-Noranda, Malartic and Val-d’Or. This territory is well known for its numerous copper and gold mines, which contributed to the gold rush and to the creation of several cities and villages at the beginning of the 1900s.
Rouyn-Noranda is also the national capital of copper! This economic boom drew many people of different nationalities and different religions to this area of the region.
