Come and discover what a fur trade post looked like in the 17th and 18th centuries at the Fort Témiscamingue National Historic Site of Canada. At the interpretation centre, exhibitions and thematic movies are presented and you will even have the opportunity to go back in time and discover old time’s places and characters. This fort is part of the Forêt enchantée (Enchanted Forest), which is famous for its strangely-shaped thujas. Picnic areas, interpretation paths, handicraft shop, campground, viewpoints and a golf course are also accessible in the surroundings. If you would like to see local plants and animal species, go to the Centre d’interprétation de la nature et marais Laperrière where you will have access to different paths, an observation tower and a long suspended bridge. Don’t forget to bring your camera! Who knows, maybe you will have the chance to see one of the numerous turtles that live on the site!
