In the heart of the city you will find a cycle path and a lake full of trout. In the fall, the very popular Festival du cinema international en Abitibi-Témiscamingue takes place at the magnificent Théâtre du cuivre. To relive the evolution of the two twin cities of Rouyn and Noranda, take the Circuit d’interprétation historique du Vieux-Rouyn et du Vieux-Noranda, which will make you discover several buildings and streets dating back to the beginning of the colonial time. These circuits can be taken by foot, bike, skate or car. Then go to the maison Dumulon, a historic site with a reconstitution of the general store and the post office of the time. With its little exotic style, the Russian Orthodox Church is also worth a stop. The Centre d’exposition de Rouyn-Noranda is also a place that is worth visiting. One cannot visit Rouyn-Noranda without stopping at the parc botanique “À Fleur d’eau”. This park is one of the rare geological gardens in the world and you will also find here horticultural information and a gift shop. For the most adventurous, a life-size labyrinth with 1,001 junctions will surely entertain you. It is located at the Centre éducatif forestier du lac Joannès where there are many family activities. Finally, visit the parc national d’Aiguebelle where you can go canoeing or kayaking, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and camping.
