The Témiscamingue area, which covers the entire south part of the region, including the réserve faunique La Vérendrye, conceals numerous natural resources, which are mainly composed of forests. It is also in this area that the first silver mine in Canada was built: the Wright mine. Unfortunately, this mine closed in 1952. The beautiful landscapes of this area and its important hydrographical network provide a great place for outdoor lovers to do their favourite sports.
