Fort-Témiscamingue was in fact a trading post that was in use for nearly two centuries. Fur traders used to come here to sell their furs to the merchants who then sent them to Europe. The region was also a witness to the great rivalry between the French and the English, who fought for the possession of hunting territories.
An interpretation centre tells you about this fabulous epic of fur trading, then about forest exploitation, which led the development of the region. Outside, a discovery circuit awaits you, along which you will discover the important characters of this epoch. Take advantage of the interpretation paths, of the picnic area as well as the handicrafts boutique.
